The One Mix Yoga Pocket 2-in-1 micro laptop

I’ve got a serious gadgets addiction as some people may know, buying a new smartphone at least once a year, and tempted to do the same with almost any shiny new gadget that makes an appearance. This time I fell for the One Netbook One Mix Yoga Pocket laptop (that’s quite a mouthfull): a 7 inch convertible micro laptop with pen support!

About a year ago a rather similar device, called the GPD Pocket, was succesfully crowdfunded on Indiegogo and I happen to know the senior editor of WindowsCentral.com (Daniel Rubino) has got one. Fast forward to the end of april this year I saw a news article on MSPoweruser.com about this new One Mix Yoga Pocket laptop going on pre-sale in China. It’s actually exactly the GPD Pocket but with a few enhencments. First of all it is now a 2-in-1 device, which means you can flip the screen around 360 degrees to turn it into a tablet, or anything in between like the ‘tent’ setup. Hence the “borrowed” name of Yoga (a Lenovo trademark).
To make things even more fantastic they also threw in pen support so you can actually use it as a journal when folded in tablet mode. The insides were downgraded from an Atom x7 to an Atom x5, but still with the very generous 8GB LPDDR RAM onboard and they have now added a Micro SD expansion slot.

Needless to say I couldn’t help myself an pre-ordered the damn thing: a TRUE Pocket PC. 🙂 😛
